The Devil is in the Details...

A couple nifty things that we thought up helped to make our pit-stop time unbeatable.

Two spring contacts are used to transfer power to the chassis via brass contact pads. An additional copper braid inside the spring gives the conductivity needed to handle the 200 W peak power throughput. The contacts have great misalignment tolerance in all directions, and also serve to eject the control box once the retainer clips are depressed.

The steering assembly uses an accurate and rugged linkage system that is self centering. So whenever the control box is not in the car, the linkage stays aligned in center position for quick insertion. This takes away one more worry from the hectic pit-stops.
